Essential Functions and Duties:
• Provide primary development and support services (analyze, estimate, design, develop, test, deploy, troubleshoot) for multiple programs within one product line.
• Provide secondary development and support (analyze, estimate, design, develop, test, deploy, troubleshoot) for most programs within one product line.
• Design and estimate tasks as directed. Validate design and estimates on assigned tasks.
• Stay abreast of industry-wide technological developments within two or more technology groups.
• Manage individual workload, keeping the supervisor abreast of workload status daily.
• Perform daily work, taking care to conform to project management and auditing policies and correcting oversights when found.
• Follow procedures and guidelines when present.
• Provide technical support to product support teams during communication with clients for areas of responsibility.
• Learn technologies in use at PCS.
Required Qualifications:
• Computer experience with Microsoft development tools and Internet browsers
• Good organizational skills, ability to work independently, and flexible with strong problem-solving skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Flexible team player
• Knowledge of the utility industry would be helpful
• Ability to travel 10% of work period
Education and Experience:
This position requires a 4-year degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science. Prior
experience with C# is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
• Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and mouse, typewriter, 10-key adding machine, or other office equipment.
• Visual acuity to read words and numbers from paper or computer screen.
• Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person and over the phone.
• Ability to transport self, personal luggage and laptop computer when traveling.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Substantial
time is spent working on computers.
